Thunderbird Email Setup

If you are changing from using Outlook Express to Thunderbird then there are a few things you need to be aware of. The default settings for Thunderbird for outgoing email is to use the first created email account - this may well prevent you from sending email using your Webspider account.

To change the settings go to the Account Settings menu item within the Tools menu. Then scroll down to the bottom of the list where it should say something like "Outgoing Server (SMTP)". Make sure that you have an entry for Webspider as well as one for your ISP (if you use their mail too). The server name should be mail.webspider.org and the "Use name and password" checkbox must be ticked. Enter your username. The first time you try to send email it will prompt you for a password which you can then save.

Now scroll back up to your webspider account and click on the title (not any of the sub menus). You must now choose the outgoing server to be the Webspider one.
